About P&J Harris & Sons.

Family owned and operated mixed agricultural enterprise producing quality food and fibre.

P&J Harris & Sons is a family-owned and operated businesses, spanning three sectors and two states.

When our story began, though, we were just a small family with a big mission: to provide great quality food and fibre to the world.

The P&J Harris & Sons story began in 1964 with the purchase of Moomin, a large rural property in Moree, NSW, by Norm and Myrna Harris. The Harris family worked together to operate and expand the business for decades.

In 2001, through family succession, Norm and Myrna’s son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Jane, acquired Moomin and took the reigns of the family business. They established P & J Harris and Sons, and got to work growing the small family business into the large-scale, mixed agricultural enterprise that it is today.

In the two decades since, our business has changed a lot. Under Peter and Jane strategic guidance, we’ve established P & J Harris & Sons, Collymongle Ginning, Clyde Ginning and Harris Cotton.

In 2022, Peter and Jane purchased Gulf Coast Agricultural Company in 2022 in order to diversity the business. Gulf Coast Agricultural Company includes four contiguous stations situated in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland.

Our properties.

Today, we operate 15 main properties with large aggregations between Moree and Bourke in NSW, Hebel in QLD, as well as the Gulf of Carpentaria.
